Wear Red Day

Did you know heart disease is the number one killer of women? That always surprises me when I read it. Are you
wearing red today?

I saw these red dresses by Josephus Thimister on Simple + Pretty and I think they are wonderful to look at. You can see the whole collection here.

I am wearing red today!
My MPH thesis was on women and their perception of their own risk for heart disease. The majority of women I surveyed couldn't tell me their blood pressure, their cholesterol, their BMI but still rated themselves as average risk even though their actual physical measures put them at high risk.

What is it with red satin? SO GLAM.

And such an important cause, we all need to be more aware.

Red sweater dress, here I come! BTW...here's a good one...my grandmother wore a red dress to her own wedding because somebody told her once she couldn't. She was like that. To honor her, red was the theme of our rehearsal dinner. I just love that color!

I wore red but unfortunately didn't look as fierce as these ladies. I looked more with a Target employee.

I *thought* about wearing red. I knew it was the day to wear red. But, alas, nothing red to fit over the belly. I really could have used those gloves...
