I'm craving the colors in this gorgeous bouquet I saw on Design*Sponge a few weeks ago. Rosemary and citrus. A lovely combination. Something to distract me from the grays of late January.
To further distract me, I spent some time this morning thinking about what's next. Some of the bright spots on my calendar:
-A visit to the Toyota Calty Design Center in (warm and sunny) Southern California. I was able to visit awhile back and I loved it. So inspiring to see how people approach their work.
-A ski weekend for the whole family to Copper Mountain. Three days. The whole family on skis. Except me — I will be manning the hot cocoa and the hot tub. And reading something excellent.
-Making valentines with my kids. Did you notice Valentine's Day falls on a Sunday this year? I wonder if the schools will be celebrating on Friday the 12th or Monday the 15th...
-Speaking at the Mom 2.0 Conference in Houston. I'm thinking this could be my last trip before I get to the very uncomfortable 3rd trimester — so glad it's going to be a fantastic event. You should totally come.
What's on your calendar, Dear Readers? Anything fun to keep the winter doldrums at bay?

Having a baby in the next month is on my calandar! I'm not looking forward to the pregnancy being over, but I'm so looking forward to meeting the little blessing I've been carrying all these weeks! Boy or girl? God only knows and we'll find out soon!
I just started on Valentine's this weekend (I'm usually not this ahead of the game!). It's been so fun to think about doing a nice little something for friends and family.
Emily N. - So exciting! I'll be thinking of you.
Kristen - Feeling like you're on top of things is the best. Yay you!
that bouquet is stunning!
Up Next: February is Craft Month over at my blog (Tiny Pants). I'm going to be sewing and knitting up a storm this month!
Ah...We've celebrated 75% of our family's birthdays this month so we're looking forward to a relaxing February. Here in Ontario we celebrate Family Day on Feb, 15th, which is a day off work and school for everyone, so we always try to plan something fun for that...tubing, hotel with an indoor pool, etc. We're also making Valentines and totally stealing your MadLib idea...my nine year old needs cool Valentines to give out this year....
I'm pretty sure schools will celebrate the 12th...Valentine's Day on a Monday is a hard way to start the school week. Much better to load them up with candy and excitement and then send them home for the weekend:)
Please check with your doctor before you do the hot tub! But have fun!

hooray, i look forward to seeing you (and your adorable belly) speak at Mom 2.o! i was there with a bump last year -- so fun!
We spent New Years at Copper Mountain and it was fabulous.
thanks for reposting the Valentine idea or I would have totally forgotten and made hearts. My son is soooo into mad libs right now too!
We recently did ye old salt crystal experiment where the salt crystals grow up the string connected to the pencil and I gave the boys little clipboards to keep track of the progress over a week. We also took pictures.
Also my five year old took it upon himself to do a photo step by step of how to make hot chocolate. I'm going to make a little book of it for him if I get around to it.
My 5th grade class will celebrate on the 11th, as we have staff development on the 12th and science lab on the 15th. Didn't people think this calendar through? We're looking forward to a great party planned by a super room-mom with food, music, and heart-y crafts.
hmm, I think our kids are off school on the 15th; I wonder when they'll do Valentine's Day. We just got some cute Valentines from Land of Nod this year; not super creative, but they're cute.
