Slurpees
What a full happy week! Yesterday was Olive's birthday. Today is Ralph's birthday. That means breakfast in bed, wrapping presents and making cupcakes two days in a row.
On Monday night, Maude had a wonderful suggestion: "How about for Family Night [Monday nights are family nights at our house], we go to 7-11 because Olive is 7 and Ralph is 11 and on Tuesday & Wednesday they won't be any more."
So to 7-11 we went. And shared a couple of Slurpees among us.
And now Olive is 8 and Ralph is 12. I can hardly believe it.

Love your breakfast in bed tradition!
Are Ralph and Olive the oldest ones in their class or the youngest? I always wonder about summer birthdays.
I love this! What a cute idea!
That photo of the two of them in front of the sign is my fave.
Twelve. Whoa. A deacon! Congratulations on raising what really seem to be a bunch of great kids. And Maude--brilliant suggestion! Clever kids.
My husband and I have birthdays one day after each other, but thankfully, as adults, we don't care about having our own cake or party. Less work for us!
happy happy birthday to Olive and Ralph...love Maude's suggestion, so clever
That's a lovely idea! Well done, Maude!
Awww happy birthday to them both. And what a smart cookie with that 7-11 idea!
You are going to have a busy couple of weekends...Priesthood Ordination one weekend and possibly a baptism the next. My son turned 12 Monday and we have his ordination this Sunday...can't image having a baptism coming up as well! Lots of fun to be had by your family!!!!!
happy birthday olive and ralph!!!
Genius!
I have an Olive, also. Her birthday was Monday and my oldest's was Monday, so we had lots of cupcakes, wrapping and breakfast in bed also this past weekend.
Well of COURSE Olive. So smart. Happy Birthday Blair Kiddos.
So cool! That falls in the category of things your child said that you never want to forget. Priceless!
My middle child turned 12 august 2, and her brother turned 8 august 6th!!
I also have children with birthday's one day after the other. Lot's of partying and craziness!

what a clever girl that Maude is!
I LOVE that idea! You constantly give me inspiration for my own family.
I can hardly believe I live in a town that doesn't have a single solitary 7-11. boo. but hooray for your handsome children and hooray for slurpees.
how fun!
That is the cutest thing EVER!
Oh, my. Those are some clever kiddos you've got there! Think they've got Mom's creativity gene!
I love this! So sweet. What a wonderful thing for them to remember.
I'm not much of a morning person so for birthday's at our house the birthday person gets to choose what they want for dinner. And--they don't have to do their chores for the day! And I decorate the house after they go to sleep the night before so they wake up to birthday decorations galore and get to enjoy them all day...or as much of the day as they can if it is a school/work day...my mom did this for me and my siblings and my kids love it.
