More Playhouses — By Guest Mom Rochelle Greayer
I haven’t worked with Kid's Crooked House yet, but I am sure it is only a matter of time since they are so nearby (in Maine). They have a similar look to Daniels Woodland but may be more practical if you are on the east coast. They also offer themes which is a bit different too.
My favorite is the restaurant theme — which I am sure would fill endless hours with pretend cooking, using all sorts of found implements. Should visit their website, make sure you click on imagination and read why they think every family should have a crooked house. I’m sold, they are preaching to the choir.
Another playhouse supplier I love is out of the country. I didn’t always live near Boston, in fact I started my company in England, and there are many sources and products available there, that I still can't find here. The Children’s Cottage Company is one of them.
They are the epitome of English charm and European craftsmanship. An individually numbered brass plaque is fitted to every playhouse before it leaves the workshop. Take a look at this portfolio! The choices for customization are wonderful.
In fact, these are just the choices for the roofing! Similar attention is paid to every detail (the siding, the interior,… you can even get a writing desk and upholstered wingback Victorian armchair for inside).
Sigh. Sometimes I really miss England.
