Well Hello August.
Hello Friends! How was your weekend?
A few of you (read: really, just my mom) will be happy to hear that The Rocking Chair Project — after stalling in July, what with all the travel, conferences, etc. — resumed full speed on Saturday. Three out of seven have been purchased. And it looks like I'll have two more by tonight. Bonus: we're well under the $50/chair budget. Sweet!
Every one is a different shape and size. Each one more charming than the next. Once I have all 7 in my possession, I'll start painting. Can't wait to share photos! Also fun — on Saturday, Ben Blair and I had our first Five Guys meal. Which was, yes, delicious. How about you? Anything fun happen in your life over the weekend?

Is there a Five Guys in CO? Thought it was just an east coast thing.

Now that you're under budget...what fun thing will you do with the money you saved??? A hammock perhaps?
we had our first 5 guys this last weekend also. the fries were AMAZING and the burger was yummy too.
Made a rainbow cake to celebrate back to school/our oldest losing his two front teeth!
I'm not familiar with Five Guys (being in Canada I don't think we have that chain here) but if the food looks anything like the lead photo it must be outstanding!
Ironically we went to 5 guys for the first time on Saturday, too. Whoah...and we saw some friends (who we haven't seen in years) who were there for the first time, too...I guess August=5 Guys & Fries.
What is a weekend without some crazy sewing projects, buying furniture off of Craigslist, and getting a new serger? WHEW!
Mmmmm . . . Five Guys. I'm not even a big burger fan, and I love a Five Guys fix. We had a lovely weekend, celebrating my little boy's 2nd birthday. Made my first ever icebox cake (via Smitten Kitchen) and it was delish.
If that Hamburger came from 5 guys then I think I need to take my man there on a date. I always love a good burger.
who would ever believe there would be a 5 guys in my little town of Idaho Falls. I've given up cooking on weekends because of it. Our weekend: 5 guys with friends, a drive in movie with wee ones who did not sleep in their car seats as we had foolishly imagined.
That burger doesn't look like the one's that they serve in Utah at our 5 guys...because I should know. ;)
Yay for 5 Guys! I'm so glad you got to experience the goodness. Did you see the little white board where they declare the origins of that day's french fry spuds?
Having just relocated from Denver, I'm holding my breath for them to make their way to Portland, OR. {From the looks of things, I think I'll have to zip back to the Rockies for my fix}
I am trying all the Burgers featured in this months Portland Monthly...saving Five Guys for last (it looks, from your pix, like the best!!!)
