Yann Tiersen

Tonight I have a date with Katherine Kaneko. She is endlessly interesting to talk to and I never get enough time with her. We are going to see Yann Tiersen. I don't know anything about him except that he did the music for Amelie but I'm quite sure I'm going to love the concert despite my inexperience. We are hoping to get away early enough to eat dinner first. Crossing my fingers.

Katherine once dropped by my house the same afternoon I discovered a lice infestation on my daughter's head. She didn't flinch or squirm once while I searched for nits, and even helped me try to carry on normal conversation so I didn't completely go nuts. She is the best sort of person.

I heart a night out with a friend. What are you doing this evening? Anything lovely?

Going on a special shopping trip that is long, long overdue ... for a bicycle! My bicycle. A shiny, colorful fancy bicycle so the wind can blow through my hair before Spring slips away.

The family is going to the Big Truck Event at the Missouri Department of Transportation offices. They let the kids climb up in the trucks as well as providing games and activities. I don't know if it qualifies as lovely, but should be fun!

Have fun! It's taco night here so that's exciting in and of itself. And we just scored a babysitter for Saturday so I'm hunting for something fun for that night!

Tonight I am going to spend time with my husband. Today is my 29th birthday. I usually love to celebrate this day with family and friends, but this morning we had to put his yellow Labrador retriever, Maggie to sleep. She was almost twelve years old and the best dog ever. I have known my husband for over nine years and have only seen him cry twice. Today he was hysterical. It was a bittersweet day. Tonight we will spend time together appreciating each other and our time with Maggie. I will wish for a sweeter birthday next year.

It's finally turning to spring here in Michigan so I ditched out on work and am outside on my wireless computer enjoying a pleasant and sunny evening with my pup, Murphy.

My sister swears by this head lice process from this website:

Enjoy your evening!

I rocked my baby boy to sleep on his last night of being an infant...tomorrow he turns the big "O-N-E"!! I soaked in every minute of it. Giving him eskimo kisses, singing to him, watching his eyes get heavy...I know the years are only going to go by faster and faster.

No special plans but look forward to crawling into bed with a good book at a fairly early hour (sometime before midnight would be nice).

I'm going to miss reading about all the wonderful things you are able to do b/c you live so close to the city. It is exciting to hear all the "in the moment" experiences you have there. I hope you had a lovely time...looking forward to seeing the rest of your calendar in action.

Oh, btw, a little John Denver might be in order for your move...Rocky Mountain High. It still moves me even though I don't live in the Rockies anymore.

I took a lovely walk with my daughter and our puppy. We walked past the community garden and stopped to smell the sage and mint and then watched a bit of a high school lacrosse game in a community field.

I hope you had a great time.

I went for "Full Afternoon Tea" for the first time ever with a friend on Saturday. It was over two hours of tasty treats and conversation. We put our pinkies out some too!
