Pretty Things
Pretty things in my house that made me smile today:
A flock of cranes above the kitchen table. Our friend Audrey, who took wonderful care of our kids while we were in Mexico, filled the house with their art projects while we were away. We took her to the airport this morning (sad) but the cranes are still with us.
My new handbag. By Casselini. The exact perfect shade of gray. Super-soft leather. Found on sale at Anthropologie. I'm in love with the oversize clasp. (No longer in stores, but I just found one on ebay here.)
Olive. And her new hat. We picked it up during the holiday boutique at Grand Central. From the Little Mis-Matched booth. So cute.
Good-looking boxes by Dorset Cereals. I spotted these at our local Stop and Shop. Uncommonly pretty for single-serve boxes of cereal. I haven't tried them yet, but I hope they're as yummy as their boxes.
What's pretty in your house today?

The cardinal that perches outside our window during breakfast each morning. He is especially handsome when he rests on the snow.
The salad I made for lunch turned out pretty (and tasted yummy)! Pretty food just adds more to the sensory experience of eating. :)
So funny! I love those cereal boxes, and admit to buying them simply because of the pretty packaging.
Sucker. For. Pretty. Packaging.
Empty bookshelves. We have those right now as we are redecorating our office/library and staring up at thier pure, clean blank slates is very pretty to me.
We started another session of Music Together and I never really looked at the illustrations inside the song books. Today I fianlly did and framed three of them to put in my son's bedroom. I love pretty illustrations.
That bag is so feminine. What girl wouldn't want to take it out for a walk around town. Sigh...
The dish gardens I created at christmastime are thriving...and are what's pretty in my house today, thank you for asking!
Love the cranes, love your blog.
That cereal is really good. I bought a box a while ago just for its good looks, but I can't stop munching from it!
haha, I am from dorset, these are very popular here,
as they are local. They are nice as well.
The weeping cherry tree in my front garden is very pretty with icicles and clinging snow hanging from it. I think it may be as lovely right now as it is when it's in full bloom!
Okay, I don't wear leather and I'm vegetarian. But that's a beautiful freaking bag!!!!
I heart your new bag :)
Those cranes are divine
What a wonderful babysitter! Leaving the kids' art projects beautifully adorning the house!
Can I get her name & number? ;)
I love this question & reading everyone's answers:
1. The piano version of 'Reverently, Quietly' that Pandora.com is playing for me right now (under my MoTab station)
2. The way the light was beaming warmly into our bathroom this morning - first thing I saw when I woke up.
3. The handsome low standing tv console sitting in front of me right now - that my talented husband designed & made.
& I love your 3 pretty things!
I almost bought the gray version of that handbag. Two times in fact I had it at the register, and then decided against it. I couldn't get over the clasps digging into my sides. But seeing it here makes me regret my decision...it is SO cute. Love the granny snap especially...
