Bed & Breakfast — the Tent Version
I loved the post on new-to-me blog, Wide Open Spaces, about a Bed and Breakfast on an organic farm where the guests sleep in tents. Fine sheets. No electricity.
There's something about this concept that I find wholly appealing. Maybe it's just the realization that a true vacation for me requires the absence of internet and television.
The farm is called Mary Jane Butter's Bed and Breakfast — what a great name!

I love Mary Jane's Farm. The whole site is full of lovely, old-fashioned quality and goodness . . . and all of it eye candy.
I knew these were pictures from Mary Jane's Farm without reading the text. It is a dream of mine to sleep in one of these tents and go to her pay dirt farm school. Not that I would ever be a farmer but I would like to pretend for a week.
Her books are great too.
I'll totally check it out the next time I'm in Idaho!

That looks soooo relaxing. I'd rather do B&B Tent Style than go to an actual B&B, I think! Probably because I miss camping. Why, oh why, does it have to be so cold in Utah right now?!?!
love. love. love.
...i have a friend in moscow, hmmmmm....

The tents at Mary Jane's Farm are made by the Colorado Yurt Company. I'm actually an employee there and love the tents so much I bought one myself. I live in a very small house in Colorado and have lots of visitors every year. So I use the tent as a guest room and dining area. I've slept in it in single digit temps with my woodstove and stayed toasty! The mosquito netting is great too. Makes you feel like you're on a screened in porch. Sorry for th blatant promo...but I LOVE my tent! www.coloradoyurt.com/tents
We have a Tent and Breakfast similar to this in Alaska! It is so great to see that others have the same idea and are making it work!
