This Weekend and Last Weekend
August is a big month at our house. This weekend Olive and Ralph both have birthdays — no big parties this year, but lots of fun plans to celebrate. Then Ben starts his new job at New Paltz on Monday!
Last weekend was also super-festive. Friday night, High School Musical 2 premiered, which was the anticipated event of the summer by the elementary school faction at our house. We had the cousins over for a big party. Pizza, rootbeer floats, plus red and white snacks for movie watching. Red and white? East High Wildcat school colors, of course!
Then, Ben and I celebrated our wedding anniversary on Sunday. Actually. We celebrated Saturday night by visiting the Apple store and picking up one of these. Sadly it's still sitting in its box because I haven't set aside an evening to make the switch from old, sad, 6-year-old-dinosaur computer to new, super-fast, shiny one. It's hard to find a whole unscheduled evening.
Because Ben is a professor he got a discount on the new computer plus a free Ipod Nano. Which works out conveniently for this weekend. The Nano will be a perfect birthday gift for Ralph, who is turning 10. In fact, we picked out the green one just for him. We're going to pre-load it with some of his favorite songs before we wrap it up.
Yeah for Birthdays! Yeah for Anniversaries! Yeah for Apple! Yeah for Candy!

Oh, Gabby. You have to open up that box! Did you know you can just link up your old mac with your new one and all your info will transfer over? It's beautiful. I thought I'd have to spend days getting my new computer all set up, but it was only one evening. Open that box!!!
Congrats on the new computer. How exciting!!!!!!!!! (I get really into that kind of stuff).
You are totally hooking up Ralph with the new iPod. He deserves it, though. He's such a sweet kid.
Gabby - I went to the Apple store last Saturday and am getting closer to purchasing this, too. I've never had an Apple computer, so it's a big step for me, but I'm excited. It's so gorgeous. Congrats to you guys, and Happy Anniversary!
We watched High School Musical 2 with our crew and my parents. My dad went to East High School in Salt Lake City where the school scenes for both musicals were taped. He had fun seeing his old alma mater on screen.
You are going to LOVE the new computer. I heart mine big time!! It's freakin' awesome. You will possibly become addicted to iDVD/iMovie. Seriously. Oh and the kids are going to go bananas over Photobooth (prepare to cry/pee your pants laughing). And Comic Life is a hoot too.
I got the pink iPod and get this... had it engraved on the back with "iNan". :^D How perfect is that!
