First Day of School

Well, they're on the bus (tear). I'll be watching the minutes until 3:15 when I can get the 411 on their teachers and classmates and make sure everyone survived.

Our across-the-street neighbors have a wonderful first-day-of-school-tradition. They put out a simple breakfast [ donuts, coffee, fruit and water ] on tables on their front lawn, then invite all the families on the block with bus age kids to gather for 15 minutes or so before the bus arrives. This is our 2nd year participating and we love it. You can imagine all the Moms, Dads and kids — super excited and nervous, with cameras flashing non-stop.

cute! I want to be that mom when Zane goes to school. Maybe Jones Soda instead of coffee, though. ;-)

What great neighbors. Any pictures? I mean, it's no longer enough that you gather the school supplies, pack their lunches, and dress them well. Now you have to photograph and post, too! xoxox

Super fun. My neighborhood is really close to school so all the kids are walkers. We could gather together and have treats and then all walk togetherr!!!
