Katie Herzig
Good morning from Houston! It's bright and sunny here in the great state of Texas and the music I'm craving is Katie Herzig.
At the Brandi Carlile concert, Katie was the opening artist and Ben Blair picked up her CD. I'm totally digging it. Have you heard her stuff? Here are three to try: I Will Follow, Hologram and I Wish You Well. Her voice is great — there's a Gwen Stefani quality about it.
What are you listening to today? Anything new you've fallen in love with lately?

Thanks for the suggestion on Katie Herzig....now I'm digging her too!! Have you heard Rosie Thomas, Sonya Kitchell, Rachael Yamagata or Priscilla Ahn? They are all so great!!
Love Hologram by Katie Herzig!! I agree with Gracie73 Priscilla Ahn and Rachel Yamagata are great!! I also love Ingrid Michaelson, Feist, and Lenka!
Her song Forevermore is my two little girls song. The night my baby's birth mother went into labor and we taking the older one to my brother's house it came on the radio. I immediately put it on my iphone and we listened to it to and from the hospital as she spent 36 hours in labor before having a c-section. my 4 year old adores and loves to proclaim it's her and her sister's song. with those words it's so easy to picture them playing together. it got us through that long birth and emotion of being at the hospital with the birth family.
"sweeter than this" is the cutesy-est little song i've ever heard. love her!
i LOVE katie herzig!
i have been following her since her days in New Comers Home. i have a friend who actually got to sing with her in one of their more intimate shows where they came to a coffee house downtown (springfield, mo) and performed for a small crowd. it was amazing.
her voice is so beautiful!
great picks!
:)
I've been a fan of hers for a couple of years now, isn't she great? Have you heard Where the Road Meets the Sun, her duet with Matthew Perryman Jones? Gorgeous.
Have you heard of Elizabeth Mitchell? She is delightful...we have 3 CDs of her and each is a hit with our children and us!
ps Would it be a bad thing to try and follow you around Houston? I'm glad we have beautiful weather for you while you are here.
I saw her in Omaha last month when she opened up for Brandi Carlile and have been hooked every since. Their group performance together was amazing!
Katie Herzig is fun and sassy. I love "Forevermore"...it's especially fun if you sang the song "Say Say Oh Playmate" as a kid.
