Happy Presidents Day!

How was your weekend? Was it just me or did the Valentines festivities extend over like five days this year? That's craziness. I vote for no more Valentine's Days on Sundays. Are you working today? Do your kids have the day off of school?

My kids are home today. Ben Blair has the day off work. And honestly, the weekend was so filled-to-the-brim — a kidney stone for Ben Blair (sad!), a prenatal visit and rescheduled glucose test because someone ate too much valentine candy, a nephew born, plus chalkboard paint and decoupage and BBQ, and on and on — that I couldn't be more delighted to have an extended weekend.

Today, I am going to clean my room. Catch up on laundry. And work on my tax records. What about you?

Also. Isn't this image amazing? The Head of the Statue of Liberty on display in Paris.

wow! what a busy weekend. I wish hubby had the day off of work - I'm sick & could use a little help with the toddler :)

Back to the ol' grindstone. Apparently, the company I work for hates our country!

Same here! Only my hubby threw out his back. :( he's off today too and it's been nice. I'm interested in seeing what you do with the chalkboard paint- we're planning on using some magnetic paint in the playroom- have you tried that?

I teach elementary school so I've also got the day off to relax - and sadly, clean! Despite the chores of cleaning, I'm enjoying it - I made pizza, lit my Volcano No. 6 candle, cranked up The Postmarks, Gold Help the Girl, and Au Revoir Simone to make the day relaxing and sunny! I'm making lemon bars for my husband, Joseph, when he gets home from work they should be ready! Congrats on the exciting weekend and your day with your adorable family!

I too felt that I ran a marathon this weekend and although I was planning on dedicating today as a total cleaning day, I only made it through 1 load of laundry before we took the kids out for lunch. Uggh, anybody have some perseverance they would be willing to spare? :-)

Sounds like you've been busy! I have 2 kids home this whole week and we counted our errands (that we unfortunately had to run together) at 7 different stops!

I spent Valentine's day with hubby in our room (but cleaning and organizing!) how romantic!

Anyway, great shot and am loving your blog!

I am new to this blogging business, but am very excited and inspired about perhaps creating my own. Your title "Design Mom" got me thinkin' I can do it, too. My creative juices are always flowing and I am screaming for an outlet.

Sorry to hear about a return gluclose testing. It happened to me w/my first child. Double ugg on that fun experience. Fun photo in Paris. And now to check out the rest of your blog!

Today, It is snowing in Michigan finally (they are on break this week) and I'm taking the boyz sledding then to warm up at a sweet shop called Sugar Kisses in Berkeley, MI where they serve really good organic coffee and have vegan desserts and some yummy lunch items like spinach pie, hearty lentil soup or veggie chili. Yum. I'm hungry thinking about it already. Hope Ben is feeling better!
