Friend Me. Tweet Me.

This weekend, Ben Blair and I were sitting with our laptops in front of the TV. (Same old, same old.) And we decided to get him all setup on Facebook. Turns out he loves it. Loves connecting with old friends. Is really good at leaving comments. And with millions of other people, thinks the whole thing is genius.

Then, last night, I was talking to my brother, Jared. And he basically testified of the truthfulness of Facebook along with every other thing that is good and right.

I'll be honest. I set up an account a long time ago. Mostly for professional purposes (it was important that the kirtsy founders had a presence there, blah, blah, blah). But I haven't paid it much attention. Now. After seeing how much fun Ben Blair is having with it. I'm feeling more committed. Are you loving it too? Sweet. You can friend me here. Or tell me how to friend you. And we'll totally be friends.

On a related note. If you're not on Twitter yet, you totally should be. Especially if you like status updates on Facebook. Twitter is like status updates on crystal meth. Plus, you can use twitter with any cell phone that can text. Did you hear that? You can tweet from your cell phone! You just text it in. During a boring movie. While waiting in your car at the school pick up line. It's amazing! And so much fun.

My twitter name is @designmom. You can find me here.

And for those of you that are super-cool, you can even connect your Twitter and Facebook accounts — so that anytime you tweet, it updates your Facebook status. But maybe we should save that kind of mindblowing info for the next Hands on Kirtsy session.

Facebook is fun. I wonder if you noticed that the Scotts like Facebook by our Christmas card this year.

Have a great time on your trip. I get Petrea and Colin here and there so I will be thinking of you guys out in the jungles.

I love the twitter/facebook interface (or whatever one calls it). It's two updates in one!

I have to admit that I was completely clueless about facebook at first, but now that I have gotten the hang of it - it's really fun!

I've been putting off twittering, but you've inspired me. It's now on my list for Monday!

My friend cajoled me into Facebook in January last year, and it has been fun to connect with all the people that have come in since then.

I love using my Tweets as my Facebook status. I didn't think I would at first because to Facebook-only users it looks a little different from the typical "is" statements in the way it comes across, but after some time of using it, I'm keeping it that way. Now, it keeps me connected better in both. And I actually participate more in both.

To be honest, sometimes it makes my head swim to multitask the whole social circle of my life at once.

Same exact story here at our house! I set up facebook a week or so ago....got hubby to do it over the weekend and we are both loving getting connected with old friends that we had lost contact with.

What's been even more fun is leaving notes and comments on each facebooks and even IMing each other while we are sitting next to each other! It is almost like we are dating all over again!

I am totally going to add you as my friend now....since your post.."do you facebook...do you twitter" is the one that inspired me...I started with twitter and found that a little confusing...but facebook for me was quick and easy!

With all the friends you've gathered, you're probably going to need to get a fan page soon!

Can't wait until Mom 2.0!

Ha! Oftentimes my husband and I are laying in bed with our laptops open - he will shout out "B-3" like the old school battleship game.

It is kind of funny how connected I am with people so far away in both time and distance yet sometimes I neglect the ones sitting right next to me.

Maybe it's time for my husband to create an account too - so we can chat!

The only thing about facebook is it sets you up for some really weird dreams. All your past and worlds collide. But it definately is fun! My sister says it saves her $$$$ because now she is not shopping online all the time.

Now I need to check out twitter - thanks

I bare testimony of facebook with every fiber of my being, and know beyond a shadow of a doubt, that it is addictive. Twitter doesn't quite give me the fix I need yet.
