Wands of Wonders
Look how great the wand project turned out! My kids are sooo excited. And to make me extra-happy, all the materials were on hand.
Project notes: I didn't have the pcv glue (what is that, anyway?) they recommended, so I just used some school glue I had on hand. Also, for paint I used common craft acrylic paint. The metallic parts are a combination of acrylic paint and permanent marker.
These would be perfect for any sort of wizard/witch-themed party.

They look absolutely fabulous! Takes me back to memories of my father who could make anything look wonderful for us. Have fun at the party.
Happy Harry-ing! Great little project. BTW, I've seen the rolled paper thing done on a much smaller scale to make beads for necklaces or Native American trim.
Those are great! Thanks for the great idea - I will be making some for my kids this Harry weekend.
Your wands look great! Guess what? We made them too!! I just posted the pictures... when you surface from reading all things H.P. come on over and see :)
my almost-5-yr-olds are still pre-harry (although they do know who he is), but i am desperately trying to fit the rest of our life into my new reading schedule this weekend.
those wands are sublime. well done. thanks for sharing. i'm going off to make some right now.
PVA is a generic (or formula...I don't know which) name for the same thing as Elmer's or school glue. Looks like you did have it on hand after all!
my sister in law is visiting with older kids, this might be a good project for them!
LOVE LOVE LOVE these! I will be sharing this idea with my nieces and nephews who have already finished the book. Yours turned out great. They look so life like!
