Party Ideas
Did anyone else pick up a copy of Good Things for Kids - Summer Edition? It's one of the mini-mags that Martha Stewart puts out from time to time. I'm still looking for something to fill the hole that Martha Stewart Kids left when they shut down, so I was happily suprised to see this magazine. And it's especially timely because it's all about parties, and August is a double-birthday month at my house. My kids are enjoying the magazine as much as I am.
My favorite ideas after my first read:
Paper-wrapped tea sandwiches. A more sophisticated version of these would be darling at a bridal/baby shower as well.
Butterfly straws. Lovely.
Mini-balloon garland. I love this.

I miss that magazine too -- but I love the baloon garland.
I love that garland!!! Cute!
the photography and styling of those photos is gorgeous too. that garland photo is so beckoning.
These are great.
oh that is awesome...i'm going to buy a copy TODAY!!
ooh, i totally love this! i'm a party girl, so i think i need this mag! :)
I love the garland, I can't wait for an excuse to use that. Are there such things as mini balloons, my cheeks hurt just thinking about blowing up that many water balloons.
Does anyone know why they stopped Kids? It was my all time favorite magazine and the only one I couldn't bear to tear sheets from. Maybe they were before their time? I keep hoping they will come back. I would pay A LOT per issue.
Where did you find this magazine???!!! I haven't been able to find it yet and I so badly want a copy!
gotta get to barnes & noble & get one. they need them at the grocery store!!
word verification: bichy
whatever.
I haven't seen this yet but I will go look for it! I loved her Kids magazine too, this looks fun!
the only thing of mine my husband has ever thrown away was a stack of magazines in an ill-fated housecleaning while I was out of town, a little before our last move, including *sob* most of my MS Kids mags.
These little good things issues have made me happy: a "blue" birthday party next week for a little darling who chose to have a "pink" birthday party when the party issue originally came out.
and, answering, I bought 2 this week: one at Target and one at Giant (a grocery store). In both cases, by the checkouts, not on the magazine aisle
yes I got that one too!
Love it! And we have 2 birthdays this month, so it's great timing for me.
