I love that and I've done that before... amazing how easy it was. My sister-in-law had this very ugly crystal chandelier.. we took all the crystals off and washed and them, painted the chandelier a more pleasing color, replaced the crystals in a more modern configuration... left off quite a few... less goop.. we didn't know how it was going to turn out, but we both loved it!
I just bought a used one for my daughters room (it has metal curly cues and daisey's on it..) but was just going to paint it... I think if I could get it working it would be great...
