Rock Climbing Gym

Two Saturdays ago we took the kids to a rock-climbing gym.
The gym was new and huge and we had it to ourselves. We were so happy to hear about it, because it seems like access to this kind of stuff is harder to find in New York than other places.

It was amazing to see Ralph, Maude and Olive scramble up the holds like they'd been doing it forever. Ben and I took turns holding babies, cheering and climbing. Ben was awesome — no surprise — he's a natural athlete, (he won the first ever Stanley Cup, you know). And I was reminded how weak I am: I made it to the top of the learning wall once and then retired my sad little arms.

Everyone sleeps well after a workout like that. And it's hard not to look cool while you're doing it.

Thanks, Laura. And just in case I've inadvertently misled anyone, the pictures are from the company literature of the climbing gym. I'm only that awesome in my dreams.
