Yellowstone National Park

We're on a roadtrip to Yellowstone to do some snowmobiling. I love visiting Yellowstone. And making middle of the night visits to Old Faithful. (Did you know Ben Blair and I honeymooned there when we were university students? Can you believe how long we've been married? Isn't Ben Blair just the best?) This will be my first visit in the snowy snow and I'm really looking forward to it.

How about you? How was your Christmas? Doing anything fun during this "in-between" week? Do you have a favorite National Park? How about that vintage photo of the Yellowstone Hotel lounge? Do you share my crush on the green sofas?

It's so beautiful out at Yellowstone! Have a wonderful time!!! Our snow recently melted from 24 hours of rain, but I'm hoping for more snow at the end of the week to ring in the new year!!

We spent this week in Yellowstone a few years ago snowmobiling. It's gorgeous! Cold, but gorgeous! Get those hand/foot warmers to stuff in your gloves!

My hubby is off this week so we're just doing things around the house and I'm busy knitting. Today is a big trip to stock up at Trader Joe's and go out to lunch with the kids. Have a great time!

Sounds dreamy!

Am I the only one dying to find out what the sex of your baby is? Did you reveal and I missed it?

We honeymooned at Yellowstone too. In January and we have not been back in the winter. It was so cold! We have gone to Bryce Canyon for New Year's... they throw a great party for all ages at Ruby's Inn and cross-country skiing on the first day of the year along the canyon rim is exciting!

I've only been to yellowstone in the summer, and only once. I loved it. we stayed at the old faithful inn, and had a room that had a view of Old Faithful. it didn't have its own bathroom, but that was clearly part of the charm. and it was CHEAP! I can't wait to go back there with my kids!
have fun. I bet the snow is amazing

I love those old lodges like the Yellowstone one--the Bryce Canyon one in Utah is also amazing. My grandparents honeymooned in Yellowstone too so it's kind of a special place for our family. But I haven't been there in the winter either. I'll bet the scenery is breathtaking at this time of year.

I was just out there in West Yellowstone with family! Wish I could have run into you, though I'm a perfect stranger! We had a blast cross-country skiing. HAve you done it? It's great and affordable--I highly recommend it, especially if you find a trail that's been set aside and carved for that very purpose. That's the best way to learn. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

My hubby tells a story about visiting Yellowstone as a child and riding a donkey down into the canyon and stayed at the Phantom Ranch. He kept his eyes closed the entire ride!

I'm loving the green too! I've been trying to think how to use that green in my house now for a few weeks. I think I am going to paint an old leather chair that color.
Hope you have a wonderful vacation!

Here is a vacation tip from somebody who lives just outside the park {yellowstone that is} Take a day, if you have one, and drive the loop that takes you over to Jackson Hole Wy. Mainstreet in Jackson Hole this time of year is a site to behold. Then load the kiddos up and drive to the Elk refuge. They take you out on horse drawn sleighs to see all the Elk that have come down from the high country to winter on the the refuge. It will be something your kids will never forget! Anyway just a suggestion. I hope you like our little corner of the the planet, we certainly do. Have a happy and safe vacation.

Have an Oh So Wonderful time Blair family!!
I will have to say my favorite National Park is Yosemite in California. We use to go tent camping every summer when our kids were growing up. We've even gone back once with the grandkids!

Yellowstone is beautiful in the winter. I know, because I live just down the road a ways. ;) We visit so often in the warmer months that my three year old feels a sort of ownership of the place. have fun!

Enjoy your time in YNP! My favorite is Lake Hotel and Lodge. I love being on the water. Reminds me of being back up in da UP.

I'm lucky enough to get to spend a week in YNP every year, although mostly in the summer. I work for Xanterra and visit to conduct an audit each year. I keep insisting we need to do a winter audit, but so far no luck. Did you get to ride in one of the old SnowCats? I hope you have a ton of fun and enjoy your trip! Send pictures!

My fave national park is Zion, followed by Bryce. Almost makes me wish I lived in Utah to be closer to both of them.

Happy almost-New Year!

I love yellowstone, I hope our friends pick it this year for our couples (no kids) annual trip.

But I have a forever love affair with Yosemite, I feel like I grew up there, visiting every summer. It makes me all nostalgic for childhood and past, I felt that was the place I was most connected to the earth.

Have so much fun in Yellowstone!
