Thinnerware

I just read an email about a line of dishes called Thinnerware and I'm kind of fascinated. The dishes are good-looking, and they have measurements disguised in their design. So for example, inside the bowl, the lowest green stripe measures 1/2 cup, the next stripe measures 1 cup and the top stripe measure 1 1/2 cups.

An interesting way to be aware of the portions you're eating, without pulling out the pyrex. Is it great? Is it a gimmick? Is it a pretty gimmick? Thoughts?

You can find out more about Thinnerware here. Thanks for the link, Sharon.

I've just started measuring all my portions out, trying to loose 22 pounds by Christmas. I will definitely have to look into these. I will say this, once you've measured something a few times you can pretty much eye the measurements. It would still be a handy thing to have around I am sure.

I love these. They look so pretty and even without the measurements inside I would use them.

Hi Gabrielle! I'm Sarah Morris, the creator of Thinnerware. Just wanted to say thanks for the post! My website's been extra busy today. To answer your question -not at gimmick. I use them all the time and they make dieting SO much easier -which is good, because dieting is a pretty constant thing for me.
Thanks again, we're a new, tiny company, so I appreciate the attention.

As a personal trainer, I constantly work with people who are trying to control their weight, so portion size can be a big deal. These dishes are pretty cool, because the vast majority of people are terrible at just eye-balling portion size, but they don't want to measure everything out either.

yikes, this may make me over think eating, but they do do it in an aesthetically pleasing way, and maybe i could forget that the lines on the dishes were telling me what a pig i am...

These are really interesting. It would be neat of you could get plates with multi colored flowers on it.
