Betty's Birthday
Betty Blair turned 3 on Saturday.
Of course, that is probably a lie, because I can not imagine such a thing to be true. I started this very blog on the day she turned two months old in an effort to ward off post-partum depression. (It worked!) And that was only like last month or something.
We put together a little party for her on Saturday afternoon. Pink cupcakes and a few simple presents. I scrambled through a few yet-unpacked boxes in search of the gift wrapping and party decorations and found this darling flower garland from Martha Stewart's craft line to add to the festivities. Perfect!
Highlights of the day:
-The Sabey cousins came by with a ginormous bag of Skittles, which are Betty's favorite.
-We lit the candles and sang Happy Birthday four times in a row because Betty loved it so much and kept asking us to do it again.
-After the kids were in bed that night, Ben Blair and I scouted out the nearest theater and saw Star Trek. Go see it too. It is awesome.

Aww, happy birthday to little Betty! My son turned 3 last month and I think we sang "Happy Birthday" to him 3 times that day because he loved it too!

The first of many Blair birthdays in Colorado - I look forward to seeing the documentation!
Tell Betty that I turned 39 yesterday and I let people sing to me over and over again all day long. I love that people care enough to celebrate that I am around, and I hope Betty cherishes that always. AND, I love Skittles, too!
I love the photo in which she is hugging herself - the delight of a party can be overwhelmingly wonderful!
Oh wow, I LOVE that garland. And you've only been in CO for a few days and already have a baby-sitter? I've been in a new place for a year and a half and still don't have one. Ugh.
oh goodness... i can just hear her giggling through these pictures! what a happy little girl :O)
Love to Betty!
Love to Betty!
Love the daisy garland!!!
Very impressive you could put this together after you JUST moved. Seriously. You actually came to mind when I was in the temple this evening. You just moved, library cards, etc. Oh I have a long way to go. And only one child. You're a great inspiration!

happy sweet three from a this preschool music teacher!
We LOVE Betty!!

I also disagree--Betty could not possibly be three.
Sounds like a beautiful day. Happy Birthday to your littlest one.

Happy Birthday! Goregous party, too! My little one is 3 in July. It goes so fast...
The birthday party looks wonderful! I started a blog for the same reason...I always tease my husband that my blog is what saved me from postpartum depression, I am sure in some way it did help.
I love the *lie* comment....
but it is NOT a lie, you have to be in denial to get past the fact that your babies are not babies anymore!
love the Martha Stewart stuff and I love that you do simple and relaxing parties.
Happy birthday Betty!!
I miss you in nursery,
Grace T.
Are you related to Sabey's from Littleton, CO? I was friends with some Sabeys at BYU... that's crazy if it's the same people! Such a small world.

(Just one of your many stalkers.)
Thanks everybody!
kimbo, my husband (Ben Blair) is the little brother of Lisa Sabey. And yes, they live here in Colorado. But the Sabey family is a big clan, so I don't know if Lisa's family is the same Sabeys you knew in college.
As far as we can tell, all Sabeys are lovely people.
Love that garland!!!
your baby girl is beautiful :)
