Book of the Week — A Child's Day
I've mentioned the artwork of Ida Pearle before. I'm a big fan. So how happy was I when I found out about her new book? It's called A Child's Day: An Alphabet of Play and it is beautiful. Q is for quack — while a child marches in a parade of ducks. R is for ride — as in a ride on a zebra.
The book is full of happy colors and compositions. Great patterns and imaginative ideas. And you can snag your own hardbound copy for about 10 bucks at Amazon.
Labels: children's lit

i think i am going to have to check this out for my kiddos.
I discovered Ida Pearle on you website and have been dying to buy prints for my twins' room. In the meantime (while I can't afford new prints) I can fill the void with this book!
Very lovely! I would love these!
Her illustrations are lovely. I backtracked to your original post about Ida Pearle and my two year old immediately said "Little Liza Jane" which is the name of a song on an album by Elizabeth Mitchell. The cover art for the CD is by Ida Pearle (the picture of the three children with instruments). Anyway, I've always liked the cover and am excited to see that she has illustrated a kids book!
this book is darling...those pages would be so cute framed.
I covet her original of the cover of "You are my little bird" album for Elizabeth Mitchell.
I ADORE her stuff and can't wait to buy this stuff...
