Apple Picking 2008
The kids had school off yesterday. We spent the morning working on Halloween costumes and we spent the evening apple picking at Stuart's Farm.
Stuart's Farm is exactly what I want in an apple-picking adventure. No bounce house. No hayride. No carnival. No paid parking. Just a beautiful, walkable orchard (with great apples) and a small shop where you can buy local jams and gourds and mums.
We are notoriously bad about forgetting our camera when we go on outings, but we didn't forget yesterday. So I posted a million photos of our adventure on flickr. To share with the Grandmas. And any curious blog readers.

it tooks us awhile to find a farm that had nothing extra and just picking, isn't it the best :)
Beautiful family.
That's what we look for in apple picking as well. A small, walkable orchard with no hoopla and hype. Luckily we have just the orchard only 20 minutes from home.
Sounds like you had a wonderful and productive day.

i love bounce houses.
Yes! After paying a fortune last year to take the train ride out to the orchard on what has become a theme park of a farm, we did our research this year and found just what you described. This year's apple-picking was so much better! Happy Fall!
now that's what i'm talking about. happy fall!
Great pictures - happy fall! Lecia
A perfect way to enjoy Fall. These apples look so delicious! I love the pie you made too...I think your circle signature is definitely pie-worthy!
this is exactly what Fall is all about, I love that you all picked your very own apples and the results looked pretty darn delicious, too.
