One Last Thought — by Guest Mom Amy M

At the end of a week where I feel utterly grateful for this opportunity I thought I would share with you a very beautiful and powerful quote my husband sent to me recently. It's from a book call Voyage.

"In the worship of security we fling our lives beneath the wheels of routine...we are brainwashed by obedience to 'them' until we end up in a tomb beneath a pyramid of weak relationships, bland hobbies, and empty time-fillers that divert our attention from the sheer idiocy of the charade. The years thunder by. The dreams of youth grow dim where they lie caked on the shelves of patience. Before we know it the tomb is sealed...When you consider the beauty there is in the world, the rapture that can be known, the honest relationships, the excitement and exaltation there is for the taking...the real things to look at and feel and read...Where, then, lies the answer? In choice. Which shall it be, quiet bondage, or hard fought freedom?"

Not sure that there is anything more I could add that would make this quote any more powerful. All of us have dreams. Desires. Needs. Wants. The most beautiful thing about life is possibility. We can DO anything, but it is up to us to make it happen. I love the last sentence " Which shall it be, quiet bondage, or hard fought freedom?" Though it is not easy, and I fight against it a lot, I truly would rather fight for the life I want then lay silent and let life pass me by.

LIVE YOUR LIFE!

Thank you Gabrielle for giving me this opportunity and thank you for being with me this week. It's been a pleasure.

Great quote. (Do you know the author of Voyage?) I read it and felt really glad that in the last year I've had the opportunity to choose my own path again instead of chasing money. It's something I try to appreciate everday. This quote was another great reminder. I look forward to reading more on your site in the future.
