What do to with your favorite photos — by Guest Mom Amy M
Being a photographer is one of the things I love most. Catching the details of my life has become something I can't live without. I enjoy looking through each photograph and savoring each memory that is tied to it, but I am always faced with the tough question, what should I do with my photos now?
Here are some of my favorite ideas.
Since I really enjoy scrapbooking my photos are most often then not used for that purpose, but then they are stuck in albums and not seen very often (if they get scrapbooked at all which seems to be the case as of late), so something I've done is frame the layouts so they can be enjoyed by all.
Another great idea is to hang a shelf and do a collage of frame photos.
Or instead of using a shelf you could put them in a very pleasing arrangement (9x9in frames from IKEA). Go here for more awesome ideas on arrangements and shelves.
This just happens to be one of my favorite ways to display your photos, perhaps because it's a creative way.
Creating an accordion photo box (click here for more photos). I made this to go in my daughter's room on her photo shelf. It happens to be 4x4, but it can be any size you like. It's enjoyable to make and super easy. Here are the instructions from my blog if you're interested in making one.
Hopefully this has given you some ideas on how to get your favorite photos incorporated into your home.

I love arranging mass photos on my walls but they are so tricky to hang just right, so I usually bag the uniformity and shoot for mild chaos.
I love how you mixed black and white photos with color photos on your wall, you don't see it often and it looks great
lOve these ideas.
Just stumbled upon your blog... I adore it!
Thanks so much.
Michelle i have one wall that is mild chaos and really enjoy it. I'm also working on an entire wall in my house with massive frames from the top to bottom. All different frames.
Anything is possible.
The accordian box is such a great idea! I hope to try it out sometime soon.
Any way to see the scrapbook pictures close up? I'd love to see the details.
I am LOVING the frames from Ikea, I always think they're too expensive (can you get the mats there too?)... but it does look great.
I have vowed to have more frames in our house. I'm a phtoographer too, and for a while my second son only had 2 pictures in the whole house that he was in.
thanks for the great ideas!!! i love the photobox.
This is WONDERFUL!! I have long been a fan of your site (and photos) and we just got family pictures taken. I have been trying to brainstorm ideas on how to display them that are fun and whimsical too...
I love that you use the digital scrapbooking for them. Any pointers for those of us that are..um...less than talented in that area? You did a Valentines card that was AWESOME!!! Hints?
Great post! Thanks for the wonderful ideas. Your accordian book is just beautiful!!
super cute - love all the ideas! especially the wall of square frames & photos with everything in neat rows - and the accordian book is adorable too. good stuff!
These are all great ideas, especially the sweet little accordian which your daughter will always treasure.
it's all so cute! the framed scrapbook pages... what a great idea. If you do that, you don't have to worry too much about the mat, etc. The accordian book is darling too. it's all so much fun.
Thanks for you wonderful comments
Bek those scrapbook pages are not digital, just the old fashion way. I prefer it myself. Love to get my hands dirty. If you know what I mean.
Hilary the frames came with mats in them. They are a bit on the cheap side but you can't really tell. I love IKEA frames.
now i have picture-envy. i love all those arrangements!
Hi Amy,
You haven't failed to surprise me today also. there is so much talent in you. I absolutely love the idea of all square frames and I think that it is very generous of you to share all your wonderful creations. I wish I could get touched by you so maybe I will also get some ideas :) anyways I also love the accordion idea can you tell me where to buy one of those I would to make one for my son and daughter . They are such nice keepsakes. Thanks a bunch again. Love your work.
zobars I have a link in my post about how to make them. I bought the boxes from Roberts crafts, but could also be found at joanns or michaels.
hope that answered you questions. If not email me.
I love that you link to BHG.com. I love that site! They always have such great decorating tips. Anyone else a fan?
