Porch Remodel

My sister-in-law Liz, linked to an article from Blueprint about remaking your porch. The article was especially timely for me because I just talked my landlord into removing and replacing the way-way-overgrown-shrubs in our front yard, and I'm working on a porch spruce-up myself.

In fact, that was why I went to Ikea this morning. I was looking for containers for flowers and a new light fixture. Also in the plan: removing the screen door and giving the main door a fresh coat of paint. (Will it be yellow? Will it be turquoise? Maybe green?) And a new house number, of course.

The article thinks this is a one-weekend kind of project, but I have my doubts.

Note to self: Ikea opens at 10:00am, not 9:00.
