Ask Design Mom Week — Holiday Card Display
Question:
I have been looking online everywhere. Do you know the metal alligator clip stands with multiple clips that form a tree like shape when cards are hung on it? I remember seeing them in a catalog from last season but was too late to purchase and am hoping to get a jump on it this year. Thanks for any shopping help! — Amy
Answer:
Dear Readers, do you know exactly what Amy is looking for? Do you know a source? Please share. In the meantime, Amy, take a look at this aluminum multi-clip hanger from Muji. They offer 3 different versions and they're made to hang accessories in your closet. But wouldn't they work well for holiday cards?

IKEA has something similar, as does the Museum of Modern Art online catalog.
hi amy,
this one isn't shaped like a tree, but you can hang cards from it and it looks sculptural. i found mine at sycamore hollow's online store for $15: http://sycamorehollowonline.homestead.com/OnlineStore.html
hope this helps!

This isn't what you are looking for - but it is from ikea and cheap!

I think they have other colors - my cousin has white.
I have the IKEA squid (in blue) & never thought to use him for cards! He's entirely ineffectual for what I thought his purpose was - to hang delicates - as I've no place to hang that will accommodate drips. Tx for the idea!
IKEA.
Here is a DIY that I am making this year from an idea at Lowe's.....just scroll down until you find it. It is a tomato cage turned upside down and I think will be darling.
And I forgot to add the link...sorry.

I second the Umbra Fotofalls. I have one too!
You can buy it directly from Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000KPJEZC/ref=asc_df_B000KPJEZC954598?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&tag=googlecom09c9-20&linkCode=asn&creative=380341&creativeASIN=B000KPJEZC
Umbra makes one - we just used it (once) for our wedding. It stands about 5' tall and has about 40 alligator clips. Email me for a photo. If Amy wants it, I can ship it to her - think it cost me about $50 + shipping.
I just created a magnetic bulletin board with holiday card displays in mind...but you could use the board all year. The first one I posted is covered in burlap, but painted ones are in the works too. They're really cute...not sure my poor photography skills do them justice! They're at www.oMyGoodness.etsy.com.
Here is one I have...

I found mine at Ikea, but we also had a wood one that hung from picture frames. Target carries it. Good luck for next year!
