Ask Design Mom Week: Fabulous Bedding
Question:
I love your styles so I was hoping you could give me a few references for bedding for my room. I've waited for a while to feel like I could spend money on bedding so I want it to be fabulous. Thanks. — Ashley
Answer:
Oh my. New bedding is the perfect springtime purchase, Ashley. And there are so many pretty options out there. I love the luxurious offerings at Serena and Lily. The Marimekko patterns at Crate & Barrel are lovely. I always have a wonderful time browsing the bedding at Anthropologie. And I'd take one of everything that Dwell Studio offers.
Where have you spotted fabulous bedding, Dear Readers?

I love our local Crate and Barrel outlet, if you have one near you. Much cheaper.
But I have to say Target - they're always surprising me with great bedding. I have a modern quilt that I love!
Garnet Hill has fabulous bedding, too!
West Elm has some great neutral bedding, sort of like the duvet in that photo, with the tucks and pleats.
I echo Leslie's West Elm recommendation and the one for Dwell Studio. Love love love!
Target. Bed in a bag. Fo sho. It's perfect!
Garnett Hill, The Company Store, or Peacock Alley all have great choices.
I second the Anthropologie recommendation. I got a comforter there and I LOVE it. It is not only beautiful but very cozy and supersoft. It's also reversible and I matched it with an inexpensive bedskirt and accessories from Target. Anthropologie also has bedding in their in-store clearance department which are a great find for sheets, shams, etc.
As a former retail buyer, one of the lines I love is Eastern Accents. You can't buy it wholesale, but find a retailer who sells it - it's great quality, super luxurious. A real treat.
I posted about this a while back - you want fabulous? These are off the charts:

West Elm--am I going crazy or is that duvet (similar to the one pictured) really only $99? Happy Easter ME!
I have my eye on a bedding set at Anthropologie but can't seem to bring myself to buy it. Truth be told, I'm hoping to find something I love almost as much at Target for considerably less expense. Not that the Anthropologie bedding is outrageously expensive, but I'm trying to be more frugal.
Pinecone Hill has a lot of pretty things, and not super expensive.

I was also going to say Pinecone Hill. Pretty & vintage-y.
I too am really wanting to update my bedding. I love browsing through the Gracious Home store.
My current favorite is Plover Organic bedding. Definitely an indulgence, and I haven't yet bought one, but I keep revisiting their site just to drool over the pictures.

I have to reiterate my love for West Elm, it truly is great!!Also, love the designs at Pottery Barn for kids stuff!!
someone already beat me to it - but WEST ELM had some fantastic reasonably priced options very similar to the anthro one.
Pottery Barn Sales. Duvet covers are the best value and can be used for summer, with no insert, and winter, with insert. My favorite recent purchase? Marigold Songbird Duvet. Gorgeous.
yves delorme makes beautiful linens
Wow! Thank you all so much for these fabulous ideas! My bed's going to be perfect--Ashley
Bella notte and Layla grace have really amazing and luxurious bedding!
Check out Ross or TJMax. It is hit and miss, but I have found great quality bedding for really inexpensive. . .
