What to Wear

15-year-old Camille. She is more fashionable as a high school student than I will ever be.

Is this a new phenomenon? I've seen two different links on kirtsy, where two different women (actually, one is 15, does that count as a woman?) take a photo of their outfits each day and showcase them on their blogs.

One is called What I Wore Today, written by a woman named Kasmira in Cincinnati, and the other is written by Camille in Suburbia writing at Childhood Flames.

Both have very different styles — and neither one shares my style exactly, but it's not about that. I just love the whole idea. Real outfits on real people. The clothes they decide to put on each day. So fascinating. It's especially appreciated by me because although they both love fashion, it's not as if they have unlimited clothes budgets — they work with what they have. A good reminder.

Are there more of these daily outfit blogs out there? I could get obsessed.

There is actually, and you might really love this one, this girl is twelve but her sense of style is amazing. Again like you said she is obviously on a budget (more like an allowance ;))but she comes up with such creative things. Her writing skills and wit are also very mature for her age. Let me know what you think. Your girls would probably really like this as well.

I just went and looked at her blog again. She has this application where you can see everything in her closet. Check that out. I wish I had been that cool when I was twelve.

There are hundreds of blogs out there that showcase pictures of what the author wears each day...my sister and I have one geared towards moms. I find the "what I wore today" blogs fascinating and have learned a lot by just looking at what other people wear!

Interestingly, I think I was a lot more stylish when I was teen. It meant so much more to me, my budget was limited, and I forced to be more creative.

I love these sites, too!

This one if from a woman who works in Advertising in Brazil:

Even though the blog and comments are in Portuguese and she wears mostly local designers, she has a ton of style and it "translates" quite well.

There are quite a few people, and several flickr pools. It is fun to see what other "real" people are wearing. I'm not together enough to remember to take the picture...lol

Check out http://www.styledujour.com

It is a start-up from my husband's co-worker and I think it's an excellent concept.

I once met a girl (pre blogging) that wrote down what she wore every single day in each square of her calendar for the year - just a regular hang on the wall calendar, and each square was filled with tiny super neat handwriting recording what she had worn that day. I thought it was fascinating, now I'm wondering if she has a blog out there somewhere.

for the outfit above (note the ridiculous platforms) she describes it as 'a simple outfit for a day spent cleaning, sewing and watching pineapple express'. i'd like to see what her stitches look like wearing those platforms. awesome.

I used to read a blogger who did that. Love the idea, but I'm way too lazy to implement it, myself.

This is so interesting! The thought of it has shined a light on my own wardrobe choices. Since I work from a home studio, I am a little too careless about my clothing choices. Sadly, my blog could go on an endless loop of about five outfits. It would be like a advertisement for J.Crew basics that the powers that be at J.Crew would never want the world to see!

btw, the girl you posted the picture of is more stylish than I'll ever be at 15! She's beautiful!

I love blogs like this! Here's another one I love: http://www.fashiontoast.com/ I think I love it because the outfits are comparable to what you might see in a magazine, except with a much different price tag. It's nice to see stuff from places I can afford to shop mixed into some very chic looking outfits.
