Paper Snowflakes

The weather turned suddenly cold here and I am looking for cozy afternoon activities for the older kids. Here's a good one:

I love the patterns for these paper snowflakes. Maude is especially handy with scissors and would have no problem pulling something like this off.

Find directions here.

I consider my ability to make paper snowflakes one of my special talents. I love doing it, but it makes quite a mess, so watch out.

You can find great naturalistic snowflake patterns at Paper Snowflakes - many patterns are based on photographs of actual snowflakes : http://www.papersnowflakes.com

Or for those who like to make snowflakes without all the folding you can go to Make-A-Flake at http://snowflakes.lookandfeel.com/

You can actually cut your own snowflakes online and email them to people so they can see. Your creations get added to the gallery where you can view thousands of snowflakes created by other people all over the world. Some of the work is incredible. It's sooo much fun for the little ones, and moms too!
