Everyone Is Beautiful
Random House sent an advance reader's copy of Katherine Center's new book, Everyone is Beautiful. I was excited to receive it and I absolutely plowed through it.
At the beginning of the book, the main character is at the park with her three very young children, including a baby — a months-old baby. Another mother walks up and tries to start a friendly conversation by asking, "When are you due?" Our not-pregnant heroine is shocked and mortified. She knows she's not back to pre-baby weight. But she doesn't even want to imagine that she looks pregnant. She can't bare to tell the truth and just makes up a date.
From that point on you know you'd want her for a bff.
Know who else I want for a bff? Katherine Center. Katherine was a Guest Mom here awhile back and she was lovely. Plus. On my first trip to Houston, she brought me an unexpected gift. A beautiful glass cup with metallic markings. (I keep it on my bathroom counter and use it every day.) Katherine is that sort of really thoughtful person. Plus. She's smart. I'm hoping to gain some of her smartness when I hear her speak at the Mom 2.0 Summit. (Are you coming? It's going to be fantastic.)
Everyone Is Beautiful goes on sale February 17th. You can pre-order a copy here.
