Ikea Hacker
When I was examining the bassinets I featured below — thinking about how I would probably end up dying the fabric or possibly having a seamstress replace the white with a patterned fabric — I remembered that I hadn't posted on Ikea Hacker yet.
Ikea Hacker is a super cool blog that collects images and ideas from anyone who has ever altered and customized their Ikea furniture. Some of the ideas are really, really smart.
My all-time favorite hack (and I'm not the only one) is these room dividers.
Very lovely cupboards turned sideboard.
Really grand bookshelves.

I have a feeling I am going to like this site... we do this stuff all the time (we have an ikea about 3 minutes away... I ditch my kids in the babysitting and feed them for 1 dollar ALL THE TIME. Then I go sit in a lovely designed, clean, well lit (room) and read a book...maybe there should be a site called IKEA--abuser of the free babysitting).
I just finished furing a really modern kidney shaped side table (from the as is section.. I loath putting together the that stuff) into an art table for Lulu. I also used their kitchen rod w/ hanging cutlery storange and hanging storage rackes for an art station for her.... :-)
Bek, your projects sound awesome. You should totally send them in to Ikea Hacker!
